Worker / Handler NJ-DOH,
NYS-DOH, US-EPA 4 days, 32 hours Practices
and procedures include hazard recognition and control, uses, types and history
of asbestos, health effects, medical surveillance, state and federal regulatory
review, personal protection equipment, air sampling and hands-on procedures
(This course is also offered in Spanish). Annual Worker / Handler Refresher

Operations
and Maintenance
NJ-DOH,
US-EPA 2 day, 16 hours Required
training for custodial and craft personnel who handle small quantities of
asbestos containing material (ACM). Under
the Asbestos Emergency Response Act (AHERA) all school personnel who come into
direct contact with ACM must take this course.
Contractor/Supervisor NJ-DOH,
NYS-DOH, US-EPA 5 days, 40 hours Includes
practices and procedures for asbestos abatement worker course as well as record
keeping, supervisory techniques for abatement activities, public relations and
communications, legal liabilities, insurance and bonding issues. This course
satisfies the OSHA requirement for a “Competent Person” who establishes
on-site control of an asbestos project.
